Best AI medical scribes for Croatian in 2026: a comparison

For an AI medical scribe in Croatian there are two separate questions: does it understand Croatian speech, and does it write the note in Croatian. Many international scribes accept Croatian speech but produce the note in English, which leaves the doctor translating and rewriting before anything goes into the record.

Disclosure: MedGlas is our product. For every other tool we link the vendor's own page, and we checked them on 17 October 2026. If something has changed, tell us and we will correct this post.

MedGlas

MedGlas is an AI medical scribe built for Croatian. You record a dictation or a consultation in the browser on your phone or computer and get a transcript and a draft clinical note in Croatian, in the structure set by your template. It is built by CliniAtlas, a spin-off of the University of Split School of Medicine.

  • Strengths: Croatian is the primary language, not an add-on, and it also works in nine other European languages; the note is written directly in Croatian; app and database in the EU; free trial with no card.
  • Limitations: no direct integration with hospital or practice record systems (you copy or export the text); team and institutional pricing is by agreement; only the individual plan (€19/month) is published.

Heidi Health

Heidi is one of the best-known international scribes. It says it can transcribe "110+ languages", but we found no public list that names Croatian. Its feature dictionary mentions a wide selection of input and output languages without a list.

  • Strengths: a free plan, many integrations (Epic, Oracle Cerner, EMIS and others), and a GDPR page stating data stays in the EU/EEA.
  • For Croatian: test it on a real Croatian dictation with doses and drug names before deciding.

Tandem Health

Tandem is a Swedish scribe. Its language detection guide explicitly lists Croatian, along with Serbian, Bosnian and Slovenian; in that mode, the same guide says, speech is translated into English for the note. The product page says notes are generated in the language you choose, without a list.

  • Strengths: data processed in Europe, ISO 27001 and 13485 and CE class IIa per the vendor, a free plan, and integrations with more than 100 systems.
  • For Croatian: Croatia is not among the countries where Tandem says it is active, and Croatian note output is not confirmed.

Nabla

Nabla explicitly lists Croatian among more than 35 speech languages. Notes, per its settings guide, are generated only in English or French.

  • Strengths: a 30-day free trial, a data storage region of your choice, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 per its security page.
  • For Croatian: a fit if an English note works for you.

Microsoft Dragon Copilot

Dragon Copilot (formerly DAX Copilot) lists Croatian as a recording language. The note language is set by an administrator, and Croatian as a note language is not confirmed.

Other tools

  • AI4Docs (UK) lists Croatian among auto-detected languages and supports Croatian notes through its "Other language" setting, with no country restrictions.
  • NEWTON Dictate (Zagreb) is Windows dictation software for Croatian. It turns dictation into text but does not draft a structured note from a conversation; medical texts need a specialist dictionary.
  • Abridge, Freed and Lyrebird Health write notes in English only; Abridge and Lyrebird do not list Croatian as a speech language either.

How to choose

  1. Test with a real example from your specialty, with doses, numbers and drug names.
  2. Check the note language. If the tool writes in English, budget time for translating and checking.
  3. Ask where data is processed, especially speech recognition and the language model.
  4. Check how text gets into your record system: integration or copy and paste.
