How MedGlas works: from recording to draft note
MedGlas is an AI medical scribe for doctors. Here is what one visit looks like with MedGlas, from the first word to the note in your system.
1. Sign in
Open medglas.net in Chrome or Safari and sign in with Google. There is nothing to install. New users get 3 free recordings.
2. Choose your language
Pick your language at the top of the page. MedGlas transcribes the recording and writes the note in that language: Croatian, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, Portuguese or Slovenian.
3. Open a record
Open a new record for each patient or visit. You can add several recordings to one record, for example the history at the start and the examination at the end of the visit.
4. Record
MedGlas has two modes:
- Dictation. You speak the finding, examination or discharge letter yourself. The transcript is added to the record.
- Conversation mode. Turn it on when you record a conversation with the patient. After transcription, MedGlas drafts a clinical note automatically.
Stop the recording when you are done. MedGlas then processes the whole recording at once, which usually gives more accurate text than transcribing word by word while you speak.
Tip: do not say the patient's name, national ID number or address during a recorded conversation unless the note needs them.
5. Note template
The template decides what the note looks like. Paste an example of your own note or write instructions, for example:
HISTORY, EXAMINATION, DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT, RECOMMENDATIONS. Diagnoses with the ICD-10 code if it was said.
MedGlas follows that format every time it drafts a note. You can change the template for each specialty or type of visit.
6. Review and copy
Read and correct the draft, especially numbers, doses and drug names. Then copy the text or export it as .txt and paste it into your record system. MedGlas does not replace your hospital or practice system and does not make clinical decisions: the doctor approves the final note.
7. Phone to record, computer to review
A record you start on your phone during the visit can be opened later on your computer, where it is easier to edit and transfer the text.
Where the data is processed
The application and database run in AWS Frankfurt, in the European Union, and note drafts are generated by a language model in EU regions. We do not keep audio recordings after transcription. Transcripts and note drafts are deleted automatically and permanently 24 hours after the record is opened (you can delete a record sooner), so copy the note into your record system before then. If an upload fails, for example with no connection, the recording waits encrypted only on your own device until it is sent; it is deleted once sent, at sign-out, or after 24 hours at the latest. Pricing
After 3 free recordings, individual doctors can subscribe to MedGlas Starter for €19 a month, with up to 30 hours of recordings and draft notes. It is paid by card and can be cancelled at any time.
